After reviewing rpgkeys.com and their custom keyboard layout for lightroom, I decided to be a little bit crafty and design my own keyboard. Using a Logitech G13 game controller, I have setup some pretty awesome keyboard shortcuts to work with Lightroom & Photoshop. I can now speed through 2000 photos in under 3 hours. That’s FULL editing including crop, light, colour and photoshop artistic editing.
It was a bit of a challenge finding the right keys to setup that would speed things up the most, but I think I’ve nailed it. Now, my clients can see their edited photos in under 2 days.
I created a reference sheet to indicate which keys do what for each shortcut. I have library mode and develop mode settings.
The Logitech G13 is not really made for the purpose of editing photos, but I find that it is much faster than using keyboard shortcuts and a mouse….and is a lot cheaper than using rpgkeys software. Since it doesn’t use the keys for pre-sets, you can still use your mouse to scroll through your presets to preview their effect before adding that effect and then quickly adjust that preset with the G13 keyboard.
If you would like to purchase the script for Lightroom or Photoshop, and save yourself at least 8 hours of programming, you can buy it from me HERE! It’s Mac ready;)
